Course description:
Automotive electronics are electronic systems used in vehicles, including engine management, ignition, radio, carputers, telematics, in-car entertainment systems, and others. Ignition, engine and transmission electronics are also found in trucks, motorcycles, off-road vehicles, and other internal combustion powered machinery such as forklifts, tractors and excavators. Related elements for control of relevant electrical systems are also found on hybrid vehicles and electric cars.
This course covers basic Automotive electronic and electrical theory, wiring diagrams, test equipment, and troubleshooting and diagnosis, service, and replacement of batteries, charging, starters, and alternators, GPS, WiFi, ECU and other Automotive electronics systems for Gas, Hybrid and Electric Vehicles.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion, students should be able to properly use wiring diagrams and diagnose, test, and repair basic wiring, battery, starting, charging, starters, alternators, electronics and electrical systems of any Gas, Hybrid and Electric vehicles.
